Weighing in at 350 pounds with the 3.6-gallon fuel tank, the 690 Enduro R weighs more and has a larger fuel capacity than a dual sport bike, yet it’s not close to as big and heavy as an ADV bike
Set everything on the comfort zone and go from there. [I had to back off the rear spring big time ] I`m #250 without gear. Stock these bikes come ready for motocross. Back off the preload and damping for a soft ride, adjust as needed. Don`t be afraid to adjust the suspension regular---no big deal ! #3.
On startup: The KTM Dongle only controls Partial front only ABS when connected (turned on). Bike defaults to Full ABS when the dongle is disconnected or off. For No ABS, you have to turn it off manually after starting. This is for the 2019-up models.
And for those familiar with high-maintenance offroad machines, you won’t need to carry out six oil and filter changes along the way either. It’s the thinking man’s choice of dual-sport bike and it’s a great one at that too. Model tested: 2014 KTM 690 Enduro R. Price: £7,699. Power: 67hp. Weight without fuel: 139kg. Seat height: 910mm
